Mark reports to Greystone’s C.O.O. and spearheads various initiatives and special projects as a senior member of the lending business management team.  From 2010-2022 he headed the firm’s bridge loan platform; during his tenure the group closed over $11 billion in bridge loans and raised over $1 billion of third-party investor capital to expand the platform.  Prior to that Mark headed Greystone’s Servicing and Asset Management business and held various other leadership roles during a total of almost 20 years with the firm.

Mark has been working in commercial real estate and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) since 1983, and has a broad base of expertise in securitization, origination, underwriting, marketing, and asset management. Prior to joining Greystone, Mark served as President and COO of the publicly-traded mortgage REIT CRIIMI MAE Inc. (NYSE: CMM), which invested in subordinate commercial mortgage-backed securities. While there, he successfully managed a going-private merger transaction, which included serving as acting CEO during the 12-month merger process. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in the CMBS groups at Merrill Lynch, Daiwa Securities and Greenwich Capital, among other firms, from 1986-2002.

Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, Columbia University. He also holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
