Mark Jarell currently serves as the Co-Portfolio Manager of Greystone’s Senior Debt Fund, responsible for management of the firm’s bridge lending platform, and is the chair of the Greystone Senior Debt Fund’s credit committee. He also spearheads various corporate initiatives and special projects as a senior member of the lending business management team. During his tenure as the head of the firm’s bridge loan platform; the group closed over $11 billion in bridge loans and raised over $1 billion of third-party investor capital platform.  Prior to that, Mark previously headed Greystone’s Servicing and Asset Management business and held various other leadership roles during a total of over 20 years with the firm.

Mark has been working in commercial real estate and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) since 1983, and has a broad base of expertise in securitization, origination, underwriting, marketing, and asset management. Prior to joining Greystone, Mark served as President and COO of the publicly-traded mortgage REIT CRIIMI MAE Inc. (NYSE: CMM), which invested in subordinate commercial mortgage-backed securities. While there, he successfully managed a going-private merger transaction, which included serving as acting CEO during the 12-month merger process. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in the CMBS groups at Merrill Lynch, Daiwa Securities and Greenwich Capital, among other firms, from 1986-2002.

Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College, Columbia University. He also holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
