John Freedman

John Freedman is a Managing Director at Greystone. Mr. Freedman has over 25 years of commercial real estate finance experience. Prior to Greystone, he was a Managing Director with Axiom Capital, where he was responsible for debt and equity advisory and placement. Prior to Axiom, he served as a Managing Director and Commercial Chief Credit Officer at Redwood Trust. At Redwood, Mr. Freedman oversaw the credit and underwriting functions and was a member of loan committee. He developed Redwood’s commercial policies and procedures manual and was a key contributor in the B piece, rating agency, asset management, and warehouse line management processes. Prior to Redwood, he held various underwriting and loan production positions with Prudential and General Electric.

Mr. Freedman holds a B.A. in Public Policy from Hamilton College.
