Jeffrey Lavine leads Greystone’s Debt and Equity Placement Services and has over 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Before Greystone, he was the Founder and Principal of Parnassa Group, LLC, where he provided consulting, advisory and expert witness services in commercial real estate, focusing on debt and capital markets, deal execution, asset management, special situations, workouts and restructurings.
Previously, Mr. Lavine was Managing Director and Co-Head of the US, European and Japanese Commercial Real Estate Group for distressed assets at UBS AG. Prior to that, he was a founding member and Head of Transaction Management and Loan Structuring for UBS Real Estate Finance. Before joining UBS, he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co., where he created and headed Loan Closing and Structuring in the Commercial Mortgage Group.
Mr. Lavine holds a BA in Economics and Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, from Tufts University. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a JD from Boston University School of Law, where he is the author of a published article on foreign investment in Japan.
